Hi, I am Duncan and I carve spoons.

I have been interested in making things with wood for as long as I can remember, but my real passion started when my first son was born and needed a “quiet” hands-on hobby while I stayed at home more often. Voila spoon carving!

Since 2016, I have been making unique, hand carved spoons and other woodenwares from locally foraged wood in Seattle. I use only a handful of tools from start to finish: a saw, an axe, a straight knife and a curved knife (for hollowing out the spoon/bowl area).

Every spoon is knife finished (no sanding) for a smooth, handmade feel, and oiled with beeswax and jojoba oil.

If you’re in the mood for a new hand crafted utensil to brighten up your kitchen or need a unique and lovingly crafted woodenware gift for a special occasion, look no further!

I also make other woodenwares: bowls, spatulas, spurtles, rolling pins, cups, etc. There may be non-spoon woodenwares on here from time to time (gasp!); if you’re looking for anything in particular that isn’t listed, I am happy to have a chat and see if we can accommodate.
